I'd like to fly, but I can't even swim

I drew out the comic for the portfolio and now I just need to work on my essays and junk. I need a proofreader because my typos suck and I don't always catch my mistakes till later. So I'll probably work on my paper tonight and go over it by tuesday because I am sending this stuff off next thursday. Getting thangs done. besides doing the comic I am doing more anatomy drawings and working on my perspective. That's always fun. I also need to catch some of the live presentations that conceptual art has through the website. I know they are informative because they talk about everything from photoshop tutorials to how to do self publishing. It's every week I just have to remember the dates.

Tomorrow I have to get up and go fill out an application for a job I already have. I don't know what that is all about but if my references all check out, I will be happy to have a new job.

Bout dang time. I need a new phone. Like the blackberry curve. (which I can get on a pay as you go plan. for free!) I can also think about revamping my wardrobe because I am a girl, a nerdy one but I also love fashion. My style is strange because I like all sorts of clothes. I wear anything from comicbook tees to old mod dresses. I also love wearing guys clothing a making them girly. Plus I like to tone down the girls every once in awhile. I love men sweater vests and cardigans. Fred Perry makes some awesome cardigans. I saw some girl wearing one and fell in love.

So awesome and if I can find one on the cheap it would be even better.
Since I'm thinking about maybe having a job I have been thinking about finally getting some new stuff, here are some of the clothes I've been after,
.

And this sweet ass Octopus necklace.

Found out that Oni press has made Blue Monday into a full blown graphic novel instead of a monthly comic. Which is actually better because I prefer Graphic novels and would usually wait till a Blue Monday seires goes to GN. But we will have to wait awhile for it.
So with that here are the songs for my Blue monday soundtrack

"The kids were alright: Songs that inpsired the comic 'Blue Monday'"
1.Goody Two Shoes-Adam Ant
2.Substitute Now-Blur (The who cover)
3.Waterloo Sunset-The Kinks
4.There is a light that never goes out-The Smiths
5.Cheapskate-Supergrass
6.Stand and Deliver-Adam Ant (On twice b/c Adam is blue's favorite singer)
7.Head over heels-The Go-Go's
8.Have you ever fallen in love?-The Buzzcocks
9.The Walk-The Cure
10.Howling at the moon- The Ramones
11.Running on the Spot-The Jam
12.Teenage Lust-MC5

Plus the 4 songs each graphic novel is named after:
13.The kids are alright- The Who
14.Absolute beginners-David Bowie
15.Inbetween Days- The Cure
16.Painted Moon- The Silencers

The songs are all found in the graphic novels. I picked the songs that I could get out of my own collection. It's actually a pretty good playlist. If I'm not too lazy I'll upload it online. Maybe.

I should head to bed. But I'll probably stay up and watch the live action "Blood the last vampire". It's probably crap but eh, Something to fall asleep to.

We're on the road to nowhere

Talking Head's Road to Nowhere has been stuck in my head all day. Geez.  I get the most random songs stuck in mah head. I think I overload myself with too much awesome music.

Today I did a bunch of pin up sketches.

These are just sketches, nothing plan to be finished pieces. I also drew them with pen because I tend to focus less of perfecting it and that way I spend more on the drawing and less on the erasing. Heh, I have been paying attention to those Rapid Viz techniques.
I love old vintage pin up drawings. I base alot of my girls on them. I like drawing thick girls because they are more fun to draw and I do appreciate  a nice female shape.

Characters from my EPIC comic that will evenutally happen.

For my portfolio for school I have to draw a comic based with the characters of a Robot, a snowman,me and a piece of fruit. I have an  idea of what I what the comic will be about, so today I also drew out how I want the characters  to look. Hopefully by next week I'll have it all finished and ready to send out. I'm really excited.

It's fall and it's been raining like crazy. It's okay to me though, I don't go outside unless I have to.  But the next day that isn't raining I'll probably go out and wander the city before it starts to snow. Because I will admit I like the fall foliage.

I have been in the mood to make mix cds. Don't ask me why. I send them mainly to my friends I can't see as often with some sweet handmade postcards. Because I am a awesome friend like that. :P  "Dirty Songs for Dirty lovers" is almost done and I am making another based off of the songs listed in the Blue Monday comic. (I am just as obessed with that comic as I am with Tank Girl)
Speaking of comics, Brian Wood and Becky Cloonan has announced that they are doing 6 more issues of DEMO!

I have become more and more of a fan of Becky's esp. after "American Virgin"  and I have also been following her online comic K.G.B. She's pretty sweet and one of the few women in comics that is getting recognition.

In the near future I hope to do some serious thrifting, visit the Asian market for some Bambo shoots and get me some Dragon Maki.

Good times man, Good times.

Long days,dirty nights.

Today was 24 hour comic day. Where basically you draw all day. I started mines around 11 and did it all the way till maybe 9:30. My ass started to hurt and I needed food. But I'd actually call it a success. I didn't do an hourly comic though. Instead worked on all my projects that needed to be done and luckily I did get everything finished expect for the lettering and the cleaning up the lines. I need fresh eyes in order to see my mistakes so I'll probably do that Monday. But I am very happy I got all my work done and I feel like I'm being productive. Yay!
So here is my work. This is pretty much the AOFTY comic. Last pages came out really well and I thought about redoing the first couple of pages but my friend told me to leave them, they'll show my progress if I am planning to use it in portfolio.

I really want to do the lettering in photoshop but I'll do that later when I have a working scanner.  But other than that I am happy with how I drew this. I am coming up! Hehe.  I also finished the comic I was doing for my friend Eric. It's about his first experience with a black girl with weave.
Yeah have to put in the lettering too.
I also did a bunch of random Jay and Nikki comics but I'm too lazy to put them up. Ah well.

Hopefully I get this job I had an interview for. I need to get better supplies(like a scanner) and start using actual comic book paper. I need the money to keep in  business. Boo. Someone should give me a lot of money. Just to help me out. heh always wishful thinking.

Eh I don't have much to say. Still bored out of my mind but finding ways to deal with that.(masturbation!) But I'm getting stuff done, teaching myself things I need if I really want to get into comics.  And I do. This is pretty much my life goal. If I get to published one successful graphic novel, I'll be pretty content.

I am making a mixtape with all my favorite dirty songs. Pulp of course is on there.

'This is hardcore' is one of my top five favorite Pulp songs ( The others are: Sorted for E's and Wizz,Like a Friend,Disco 2000 and Do you remember the first time)
Tomorrow I'm going to try to see Neil Gaiman. He's reading and greeting people at the downtown library for the Writers and Authors event Cleveland Public library is having all month. He's the only author I want to see.
I also need to start finding out about the Dr.Sketchy events earlier than I do. This month is going to be Halloween themed and I already missed the pin up and latex drawing events so I have to go to this one. I am hoping it's at the Grog but more than likely at the Beachland which means I can finally check out Shoparooni.
I wanna make cupcakes! But the stove is crappy. I hate electric stoves.
